Bangladesh encompasses a rich tapestry of indigenous communities, each preserving unique cultural identities, languages, and traditional practices across different geographical regions of the country. Among these diverse groups, the Garo community primarily inhabits the Mymensingh, Netrokona, Sherpur, and Tangail districts. Within their cultural framework, members of the Garo community speak a distinct language known as Achik, and they celebrate Wangala as their most prominent traditional festival.

Another significant indigenous population within the country is the Oraon community, whose members predominantly reside across the Rajshahi, Rangpur, and Dinajpur regions. The cultural heritage of the Oraon people is highlighted by various traditional observances and community practices, with Karama recognized as their primary and most important festival.

Meanwhile, the Khasi community is situated across various areas within the Sylhet division. Members of the Khasi population are widely recognized for their agricultural expertise, being particularly well-known for their involvement in betel leaf cultivation. Their cultural calendar is marked by several traditional events, culminating in their principal festival, which is known as 'Khasi Seng Kutclem' or the year-end farewell celebration.

In the southeastern hill tracts, the Mro community lives mainly within the Bandarban district. The livelihood of the Mro people is closely tied to their traditional agricultural methods, with jhum cultivation serving as their primary occupation. To celebrate their cultural heritage and agricultural cycles, the community observes Changkran as their main festival.

Finally, the Santal community occupies various districts situated throughout the northern regions of Bangladesh, including Dinajpur, Rajshahi, Naogaon, and Chapainawabganj. The Santal people maintain a vibrant cultural tradition rooted in their regional settlements, and they celebrate Sohorai as their primary and most cherished festival throughout the year.
