NUS Makes Generative AI Course Mandatory Starting 2026-27 Academic Year

Specifically, starting from the 2026-27 academic year, first-year undergraduate students at NUS must successfully complete a mandatory course titled ‘THE1008 Applied Generative AI: From Prompting to Evaluation’.
This institutional shift follows a formal partnership agreement announced on August 11, which established a direct collaboration between the university and OpenAI.
