Northern regions of Bangladesh are bracing for a potential worsening of the flood situation as water levels in several key rivers are forecasted to increase significantly in the coming days. According to the Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre operating under the Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB), the water levels of the Teesta, Dharla and Dudhkumar rivers are anticipated to swell continuously over the next forty-eight hours.

Despite the concerning upward trend and the looming threat of inundation, official monitoring data confirms that the water levels in all three of these major northern rivers are currently flowing below their respective danger marks.
