Noakhali Science and Technology University Launches Electric Car Service

Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU), located in Noakhali, has officially introduced an eco-friendly electric car service designed to facilitate and ease the internal transportation of students across the university campus. The implementation of this new transit option marks a significant step toward improving campus mobility while maintaining environmental consciousness through sustainable transport solutions.

The formal inauguration of the electric car service took place on Monday, August 24, at exactly 12:00 PM. The launching ceremony was held directly in front of the university's administrative building, where university authorities and officials gathered to mark the commencement of the new transportation initiative for the academic community.

The service was inaugurated by the university's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Golam Rabbani. By officially cutting the ribbon and initiating the operations, Professor Dr. Golam Rabbani set the wheels in motion for the electric cars to begin servicing the designated routes intended to assist students with their daily commuting needs within the university premises.

Despite the positive intentions behind introducing an environmentally friendly transit system to the campus, the rollout has not been without controversy. Shortly after the service was made public and operational, dissatisfaction emerged regarding the financial aspect of the transportation system, specifically concerning the cost of travel.

The root of the ongoing discontent stems from the pricing structure established for the electric cars. University authorities have determined that the minimum fare for utilizing the newly launched electric car service will be 10 taka. This fixed minimum rate has subsequently prompted many people to express their frustration and anger openly regarding the affordability of the service.
