A violent factional clash erupted between two opposing groups of the National Citizen Party (NCP) in the Uttar Bazar area of Kulaura municipality in Moulvibazar, leaving a total of seven individuals injured. The confrontation took place during the period spanning Thursday night and Friday morning, escalating local tensions and drawing immediate intervention from law enforcement authorities.

Following the outbreak of violence, the injured individuals sought medical treatment at the Kulaura Upazila Health Complex. The incident prompted formal legal action, with a case being officially registered at the Kulaura police station. Tamim Ahmed, who serves as the former joint coordinator of the Moulvibazar district unit of the NCP, stepped forward as the plaintiff to file the case.

According to statements provided by Tamim Ahmed, the conflict stemmed from an earlier incident wherein he was returning to his residence in the Barlekha upazila from the Moulvibazar district headquarters. Upon arriving with party activists in front of a restaurant, individuals from the opposing faction launched an assault upon them. Ahmed noted that the events detailed within the lawsuit's first information report directly center around the precise circumstances that triggered the clash.

Meanwhile, Ruhul Amin provided further context regarding the events surrounding the altercation, stating that party members and some outsiders launched a pre-planned attack following a discussion with the division's organizational secretary for Sylhet. Amin added that various details concerning the incident are currently being gathered, after which a press conference will be held to disclose comprehensive information. He also affirmed that organizational measures will be instituted against any party members found to be implicated in the violent episode.

In response to the case, the Kulaura police launched an operation and successfully apprehended five individuals. The names of the five arrested suspects are Ehsan Zakaria, Tofael Ahmed, Sahel Ahmed, Fahim Ahmed, and Sohag Mia. Sheikh Zahirul Islam confirmed that the five detained individuals were formally arrested under the case filed by Tamim Ahmed and subsequently dispatched to a court in Moulvibazar.
