Modi Receives Uzbekistan's Highest State Award During Tashkent Visit

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has received Uzbekistan's highest state award, known as the 'Order of Oliy Darajali Dostlik'. The prestigious distinction was officially presented to the Indian leader by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during a formal ceremony held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.

The high-level recognition was awarded to Prime Minister Modi in acknowledgment of his significant contributions toward strengthening the strategic partnership between India and Uzbekistan, as well as for his ongoing efforts to deepen bilateral relations between the two nations.

Accepting the prestigious decoration during his two-day state visit, which took place on Sunday, August 30, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed profound gratitude for the honor bestowed upon him by the Central Asian nation.

Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Modi remarked that being honored with Uzbekistan's highest award was an extremely proud moment for him personally. He stated, 'I accept this honor with deep humility and dedicate it to the centuries-old friendship and shared heritage of our two countries.'

The Indian Prime Minister further emphasized the deep-rooted ties connecting New Delhi and Tashkent, attributing the continuous strengthening of bilateral relations to the visionary leadership and friendship shown toward India.

Concluding his remarks in Tashkent, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the literal and cultural significance of the award's name, noting that today the gathered dignitaries had truly embodied the essence of 'Dostlik', which translates directly to friendship, capturing the core sentiment of the relationship between India and Uzbekistan.
