Under the established return parameters, refunds for standard digital games are typically issued provided that the request is submitted within 14 days of the original purchase date. Furthermore, applicants must ensure that they have not accumulated a significant amount of playtime on the specific title in question before submitting their claim to customer support.

For situations where the initial 14-day window has passed, players retain the option to submit game refund requests within 90 days of the purchase date. However, Microsoft notes that approval for these extended-timeline requests is not guaranteed and remains subject to review under company guidelines.

Consumers who purchase digital game pre-orders also have options for cancellation prior to the official release date. These pre-orders can be cancelled directly through the user's order history up to 10 days before the scheduled launch of the game.

Regarding recurring services, subscriptions may qualify for a refund under specific conditions outlined by the platform. A refund for a subscription is applicable if requested within 30 days of the initial purchase or before the first recurring billing date, whichever comes first in the billing cycle.
