Man Arrested in Dhaka Over Alleged Rape of Six-Year-Old Child
Dhaka Metropolitan Police have arrested a 32-year-old man following allegations that he raped a six-year-old child in the capital's Shah Ali Police Station area. The victim's mother filed a formal complaint at the police station, leading to a raid and the suspect's arrest.

Law enforcement authorities in the capital have apprehended a 32-year-old man in connection with the alleged rape of a young child in the Shah Ali Police Station area of Dhaka. The arrested individual has been identified in official police records as Suman, according to the details provided following the law enforcement operation.
According to the allegations detailed in the case, the incident took place during the afternoon hours on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. The purported assault occurred near the Royal City pocket gate adjacent area located within the jurisdiction of the Shah Ali Police Station in Dhaka.
Following the harrowing incident, the victim's mother took formal legal action regarding the matter. On Thursday, August 27, 2026, she proceeded to the Shah Ali Police Station to file a formal case and statement detailing the allegations against the accused individual.
Acting promptly upon the complaint lodged by the mother, police units initiated operations to locate the suspect. On Thursday night, officers from the Shah Ali Police Station conducted a raid at the residence of the accused and successfully arrested Suman in connection with the ongoing investigation.
The arrest underscores the ongoing efforts by local law enforcement agencies under the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) to address serious crimes against children within the metropolitan area. Authorities are continuing their legal proceedings following the swift apprehension of the suspect from his home.
