Sohag Khan originally arrived in Italy in 2013 and subsequently traveled back to Bangladesh in 2015. However, following the expiration of his passport in 2020, he found himself trapped in a complex web of political and administrative difficulties that completely halted his ability to travel or function normally overseas. During this grueling ordeal, the prolonged lack of travel documentation left him unable to work for a staggering three full years, resulting in a devastating financial loss of approximately twenty lakh takas.
The administrative crisis also inflicted a profound personal toll on the expatriate leader. In 2021, while his passport remained blocked due to the lingering complications, his father passed away in Bangladesh. Because he lacked valid travel papers, Sohag Khan was utterly unable to return home to attend his father's funeral or pay his final respects, compounding the emotional weight of his prolonged separation from his homeland.
Despite the immense obstacles and the heavy personal sacrifices he endured throughout the multi-year ordeal, the situation shifted dramatically when the necessary travel authorization was secured within a remarkably brief window of just fifteen days. Following the successful issuance of his long-awaited travel document at the diplomatic mission in Rome, the newly documented BNP leader reflected on the patience required to navigate such turbulent circumstances.
