Islamic University VC Urges Strict Adherence to Office Hours
Islamic University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A K M Matinur Rahman has directed department heads and office chiefs to strictly follow designated working hours. He warned that the administration will take strict action against any irregularities in class attendance or office schedules.
Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia recently hosted a significant exchange of views meeting bringing together the university's top administration, departmental chairpersons, and office heads. The crucial gathering took place on the 8th of September inside the official conference room of the vice-chancellor, marking an important administrative push for institutional discipline.
During the session, Vice-Chancellor Professor A K M Matinur Rahman delivered clear directives regarding punctuality and professional accountability. He specifically instructed all teachers and administrative officials to strictly abide by the officially designated working hours and departmental schedules without deviation.
Emphasizing the negative impact of tardiness, Professor Matinur Rahman stated that educational and administrative activities are severely disrupted when individuals arrive at or leave their offices arbitrarily, or fail to maintain proper classroom attendance. He noted that academic progress is directly hindered whenever students fail to find their teachers available at the scheduled times.
Addressing the ethical dimensions of the profession, the vice-chancellor asserted that it is impossible to ensure a teacher's full responsibilities solely through laws or restrictive regulations. Instead, he stressed that professional duties must be fulfilled driven by personal morality and a deep sense of responsibility, adding that leaves must be taken strictly following proper rules.
Issuing a firm warning against non-compliance, Professor Matinur Rahman declared that the university administration will take strict action if any violations of the established rules and regulations are detected.
The high-level meeting was attended by several other key administrative figures of the institution. Alongside Vice-Chancellor Professor A K M Matinur Rahman, the gathering featured Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Emtaz Hossain, Treasurer Professor Idris Ali, and Registrar Professor Atikur Rahman, demonstrating a unified leadership stance on institutional governance.
