Ishwardi Plants Over 300 Trees in Joint Environmental Campaign
Ishwardi recently hosted a two-day tree-planting initiative. Organizers and local officials joined forces to plant over 300 fruit and forest trees.
A month-long tree-planting program successfully got underway in Ishwardi, where participants came together over the course of two days to plant more than three hundred trees. The joint environmental initiative focused on planting a diverse variety of both fruit-bearing and forest-nurturing saplings to enhance local greenery and contribute to ecological balance within the region.
The extensive environmental drive was organized through a collaborative partnership between two prominent local groups: 'Class of 2000 Ishwardi' and the Samakal Suhrid Samabesh Ishwardi Unit. Both organizations mobilized their members and resources to ensure the successful execution of the ambitious planting schedule over the designated two-day period.
Official proceedings for the tree-planting campaign were formally inaugurated by Asaduzzaman Sarkar, the Assistant Commissioner of Land in Ishwardi. His presence underscored the municipal and administrative support for grassroots environmental efforts aimed at increasing the area's tree cover through community-led action.
The collaborative effort saw active participation and coordination from a large group of local individuals. Among those involved in organizing and facilitating the successful event were Pronab Kumar, Jahurul Islam, Abdul Momin, Aklima Khatun, Sehab Uddin, Selim Sardar, Monirul Islam Babu, Tanha Islam Shimul, Masudul Islam Masud, Rowshan Konak, Sajedul Islam Shishir, Md. Ariful Islam Ratan, Md. Shamim Reza Suruj, Md. Shafiul Bashar Sujon, Firoz Ahmed, Sultan Firoz Bappi, Md. Jahangir Alam, Md. Nazimuddin Rintu, Md. Rehanul Islam Rajon, Raju Ahmed, Md. Mustafizur Rahman Kollol, Md. Nahid Akhtar Rinku, Md. Faisal Islam, Md. Saiful Islam, Shri Krishna, and Md. Sharifullah Sharif.
In addition to the organizing individuals, the overarching campaign received backing from environmental networks, notably including the organization known as 'Sabuj Prithibi'. This broader network of support helped amplify the reach and messaging of the month-long program, ensuring that the initial planting of over three hundred trees serves as a strong foundation for ongoing ecological awareness and community stewardship in Ishwardi.
