Husband and Wife Arrested with 390 Yaba Pills in Bogura
A husband and wife were arrested in Bogura Sadar upazila on charges of drug trafficking. Law enforcement authorities recovered illicit narcotics and cash during the operation.
In a recent law enforcement operation conducted in Bogura district, local authorities successfully apprehended a husband and wife accused of involvement in the illegal narcotics trade. The operation took place on August 13, 2026, targeting a specific location within the Bogura Sadar upazila.
According to official reports, the arrests were made by officers from the Bogura Sadar police station in the Dattabari area. The operation was executed during the evening hours, specifically around 7:30 PM, leading to the apprehension of the two primary suspects.
The individuals identified in connection with the arrests are Mozam Pramanik, along with the main suspects, Md. Nantu Pramanik and his wife Neela. During the subsequent search and seizure procedures conducted at the scene, law enforcement personnel uncovered a significant quantity of illicit substances.
Authorities reported the recovery of 390 pieces of Yaba tablets, a synthetic stimulant drug that is frequently targeted in regional anti-narcotics sweeps. In addition to the narcotics, officers seized cash amounting to 138,800 taka, which is believed to be proceeds generated from the sale of these illegal drugs.
Further investigations into the background of the male suspect revealed a history of legal entanglements involving similar offenses. Official records indicate that Md. Nantu Pramanik is already facing six prior narcotics-related cases that remain pending before the judicial system.
