Hili Press Club Holds Biennial Election in Dinajpur

The Hili Press Club, located in Hakimpur upazila under Dinajpur district, has officially held its much-anticipated biennial election to form a new executive committee. The internal democratic exercise took place on Saturday, August 22, 2026, drawing significant attention from the local journalistic community operating within the region.

Voting for the biennial election was conducted at the temporary office of the Hili Press Club, where members gathered during the afternoon to cast their respective ballots. A total of 28 registered voters were eligible to participate in the democratic process to determine the future leadership of the organization.

Out of the 28 eligible voters, a total of 26 members successfully exercised their voting rights by casting their ballots at the polling venue. However, election officials confirmed that during the counting process, one of the cast votes was declared invalid, leaving 25 valid ballots to decide the final outcome.

Following the meticulous counting of the valid votes by election authorities, the official results of the biennial election were announced to the members present at the temporary office. Mo. Golam Rabbani emerged victorious in the closely watched contest, securing the pivotal position of president for the upcoming tenure.

In addition to the presidency, the members of the Hili Press Club elected Sohel Rana to serve alongside the newly appointed president as the general secretary. The newly formed leadership team under Mo. Golam Rabbani and Sohel Rana is now expected to guide the press club through its next term of operations in Hakimpur, Dinajpur.
