Heatwave persists across northern Bangladesh despite rain forecasts
Bangladesh faces a combination of ongoing heatwaves in northern regions and widespread rain forecasts across all eight divisions. Meteorological authorities report that maximum wind speeds could reach up to 60 kilometers per hour in several areas.

The Meteorological Department of Bangladesh has issued weather forecasts indicating that despite recent rainfall, the majority of districts located in the northern region of the country continue to experience high temperatures exceeding 35 degrees Celsius. Specifically, weather monitoring data recorded the highest temperature in the northern area at Dimla in Nilphamari district, where the mercury reached 36.2 degrees Celsius.
In the capital city of Dhaka, conditions remained relatively different, with the morning temperature recorded at 6 degrees Celsius during early observations at 6 am. Subsequent meteorological updates showed that the maximum temperature in Dhaka reached 32.4 degrees Celsius as the day progressed.
Alongside the persisting high temperatures, the Meteorological Department has warned of significant atmospheric disturbances across the country. According to the official forecast, rain or thunder showers are predicted to occur across all eight administrative divisions of Bangladesh today.
Furthermore, authorities have issued specific warnings for a total of eleven regions across the country, including the capital city of Dhaka. These eleven regions are expected to be affected by sudden storms, with the maximum speed of these weather systems projected to reach up to 60 kilometers per hour.
Elaborating on the atmospheric conditions, meteorological data indicates that wind speeds during these periods are generally ranging between 45 and 60 kilometers per hour in affected zones, while standard wind movements in other parts are registered between 10 and 15 kilometers per hour. The combination of high northern temperatures and widespread stormy weather continues to be monitored closely by the Meteorological Department.
