Headteacher Dies After Snatcher Pulls Her From Rickshaw in Dhaka
A government primary school headteacher has died in the capital's Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban area after a snatcher pulled her bag while she was on a rickshaw. The victim succumbed to severe head injuries sustained from the fall after being rushed to a hospital.
A government primary school headteacher tragically lost her life in the capital after falling victim to a snatching incident near the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban area. The incident took place on Saturday, August 29, when the victim was targeted during an early morning commute in Dhaka.
The deceased has been identified as Mst. Ronzina Parveen, who served as the head teacher of Bogura's Bagbari Balika Government Primary School. According to the confirmed details of the incident, she fell prey to criminals at approximately 6:30 AM right in front of the South Plaza of the national parliament building.
Initial reports indicate that Mst. Ronzina Parveen was traveling in a rickshaw through the designated area when the attack occurred. A perpetrator riding on a motorcycle suddenly approached the moving rickshaw and forcefully pulled at her bag, creating a violent momentum that caused the educator to plummet onto the pavement.
The forceful pull and subsequent fall resulted in severe injuries, notably causing her head to split open and leaving her in a critical condition on the street. Following the emergency, she was swiftly transported to the Suhrawardy Hospital for urgent medical evaluation and treatment.
Despite the rapid transfer to the medical facility, attending physicians on duty at the hospital were unable to save her life. The medical team formally declared the primary school headteacher dead upon her arrival at the institution.
