Gold Traders Injured in Manikganj Armed Robbery
Armed attackers fired blank shots in Manikganj, injuring three people and stealing gold, silver, and cash. Police have recovered a spent cartridge from the crime scene following the night-time heist.

A brazen armed robbery took place in the Purba Shanbanda area of Manikganj Sadar upazila in Manikganj, where a gang of criminals opened fire by shooting blanks to terrorize locals and successfully made off with quantities of gold, silver, and cash. The violent incident unfolded during the night of August 14, 2026, plunging the local business community into a state of shock and immediate concern regarding their security.
According to verified reports from the location, the perpetrators launched a vicious physical assault in addition to their firearm intimidation. The gang utilized iron rods to beat their victims mercilessly, resulting in severe injuries to a local gold trader and two other individuals who were present at the scene during the course of the criminal operation.
The financial losses sustained during the late-night heist are substantial. The attackers managed to plunder a total of fifty to sixty bhoris of silver, alongside an additional two ana of gold. Furthermore, the armed robbers successfully looted a cash amount totaling eighty-five thousand taka from the victims before making their escape from the area.
Investigative efforts into the armed robbery are currently being led by the Manikganj Sadar Thana police personnel, who responded promptly to the emergency situation. Law enforcement officials conducted a thorough search of the surrounding area to gather physical evidence related to the violent crime.
During their preliminary inspection and sweep of the location, police officers successfully recovered a spent cartridge that had been left lying on the ground. Authorities are continuing their inquiries into the actions of the three to four perpetrators believed to have been involved in the crime.
