Free Eye Care and Tree Plantation Drive Held in Brahmanbaria

A free eye care medical service, an awareness campaign for post-mortem eye donation, and a tree plantation program were successfully held on September 5th at the premises of Kharaera Mohammadia High School, located in Kasba upazila of Brahmanbaria district. The community-focused initiative was organized under the dedicated initiative of the Kharaera Mohammadia High School Alumni Association to benefit local residents in need of specialized medical attention and to promote environmental sustainability.

During the day-long medical camp, approximately 600 patients received completely free eye treatment services. A team of twelve specialist doctors was present at the venue to diagnose eye conditions, consult with patients, and ensure that attendees received proper medical evaluations throughout the course of the outreach program in Kasba.

In addition to medical consultations, the organizers distributed free medicines and eyeglasses to the patients who attended the camp, addressing immediate health needs. Furthermore, neem tree saplings were distributed among the patients and participants as part of the broader efforts to encourage greenery and ecological awareness within the local community.

During the discussions held at the event, speakers emphasized the profound importance of voluntary contributions to healthcare and environmental conservation. The speakers stated that post-mortem eye donation represents a noble commitment to restoring light and vision into the life of another human being even after one's own death.

The speakers further highlighted the ecological significance of the initiative, noting that tree plantation paves the way for building a habitable earth for future generations while actively protecting the local environment. The program drew the participation and presence of numerous individuals representing the alumni association, local schools, health authorities, and various community organizations.
