Forty Sacks of Fertilizer Seized by Locals in Narail's Lohagara
Local residents in Narail's Lohagara intercepted a nosimon carrying forty sacks of fertilizer on September 2. Authorities subsequently seized the vehicle and the agricultural supplies following the incident.
On September 2, local residents in Lohagara, Narail, intercepted a locally motorized transport vehicle known as a nosimon along the Kalna-Lahuria road in the Makrail area. The vehicle was carrying a total of forty sacks of fertilizer when it was stopped by the public.
According to the verified facts of the incident, the forty sacks of fertilizer were in transit to the shop of Md. Alim, who operates as a fertilizer sub-dealer in the Lahuria market area. The interception by local citizens halted the delivery of the agricultural supplies before they reached their intended destination.
Following the public intervention, representatives from the upazila administration and local police forces arrived at the scene. Upon their arrival, law enforcement and administrative officials took control of the situation and formally seized both the forty sacks of fertilizer and the transporting nosimon.
Md. Alim explained the circumstances surrounding the movement of the goods, stating that because his own shop lacked the necessary fertilizer, he had purchased the forty sacks from four to five different shops located in the Fedi market area and was transporting them via the nosimon when local residents intercepted the vehicle along the road.
In response to the seizure, SM Mostafizur Rahman addressed the situation involving the sub-dealer. He confirmed that official actions would be taken, stating that legal measures will be pursued against the accused sub-dealer following a thorough investigation into the matter.
