Exhibition of Reader Photographs and Citizen Journalism Published
A new collection of reader-submitted photographs showcases daily life and landscapes across various locations in Bangladesh, including Dhaka, Chattogram, Naogaon, Sirajganj, Satkhira, and Cox's Bazar. The published scenes highlight diverse moments ranging from urban labor to rural waterways and natural settings.
A newly published exhibition of photographs sent in by readers along with citizen journalism reports has offered a visual journey through multiple regions of Bangladesh. The documented moments capture everyday occurrences, working-class realities, and distinct geographical landscapes across Dhaka, Chattogram, Naogaon, Sirajganj, Satkhira, and Cox's Bazar.
In the capital, a scene was captured near Motijheel where working-class women are engaged in selling vegetables. This snapshot of urban commerce was documented right beside Toynbee Circular Road, adjacent to the Bangladesh Bank headquarters, illustrating the daily economic struggles and activities of female laborers in the bustling metropolitan area.
Moving outside the capital to the port city, another photograph was recently taken on the premises of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Chattogram. This legal and administrative hub provided a backdrop for one of the submitted frames, capturing a slice of civic life within the southern division.
Further inland, rural and semi-urban environments are prominently featured in the collection. From the northern district of Naogaon, specifically within Niamatpur Upazila, a reader submitted a photograph of a cat. Meanwhile, in Sirajganj, the vast expanse of the Chalan Beel in Udhunia, Ullapara, serves as the setting where a small dinghi boat is seen navigating the waters.
The aquatic and rural themes continue into the southwestern region, where a photograph from Baukola in Satkhira portrays a typical rural field during the monsoon season. This landscape highlights the seasonal agricultural conditions and water levels characteristic of the area during the rains.
Additional entries in the exhibition feature natural and leisurely pursuits from different parts of the country. Near Aftabnagar, in the Dasherkandi area, a fisherman was photographed patiently waiting for a catch on September 12, 2026. Finally, from the southeastern coastal district, a scenic view from Court Bazar in Ukhia, Cox's Bazar, captures blooming water lilies, rounding out the diverse tapestry of reader-contributed perspectives.
