Education Minister seeks UN cooperation for the development of education

Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon has sought cooperation from the United Nations to implement various initiatives for improving and reforming the country's education system.

In a recent discussion with relevant UN representatives at the Ministry of Education, views were exchanged regarding the current situation and future development plans of Bangladesh's education sector. During the meeting, various issues such as improving the quality of education, creating a more effective learning environment for students, and making the education system contemporary were prioritized.

International Cooperation in Education Reform

Emphasis is being placed on increasing coordination with development partners to make the ongoing reform activities in the education sector more effective. As part of this, discussions were held on utilizing the experience, technical assistance, and necessary cooperation of international organizations.

Previously, discussions were also held with UNESCO to strengthen cooperation on issues such as improving the quality of education in Bangladesh, reducing student dropout rates, and enhancing teacher skills.

Modern and Technology-Driven Education

The necessity of making the education system more modern in line with current demands was also highlighted. In particular, emphasis is being placed on increasing the use of technology, developing students' skills, and taking new initiatives to increase the effectiveness of education.

The government aims to improve the education system not only structurally but also in terms of quality and practical application.

Initiatives for Curriculum Change

The Education Minister has previously stated that initiatives would be taken to review the existing syllabus and curriculum to make the education system contemporary. At the same time, emphasis was placed on ensuring the effectiveness of ongoing projects aimed at improving the quality of education by reviewing them.

Plans to Increase International Partnership

There are plans to further increase coordination with international development partners, including the United Nations, for the development of Bangladesh's education sector. Through such cooperation, opportunities may arise to more effectively implement initiatives for skill development, the use of modern technology, and improving the quality of education in the sector.

Stakeholders hope that the cooperation of international partners will continue in implementing the long-term development plans for the education sector.
