Driver and Two Others Arrested for Stealing 10 Million Taka
Industrial police have arrested a driver and two accomplices following the theft of 10 million Taka from a Chinese apparel businessman's vehicle in Narayanganj. Authorities successfully recovered 97 lakh Taka of the looted funds during the operation.
Law enforcement authorities have apprehended a driver along with two other individuals in connection with a major theft targeting a foreign investor. The arrests follow the alleged theft of 10 million Taka directly from the car of a Chinese apparel businessman.
The criminal incident took place in Rupganj, located within the Narayanganj district. According to verified police findings, the targeted vehicle belonged to the Chinese national operating within the local apparel sector.
Following an intensive investigation into the high-value theft, the Industrial Police successfully tracked down and arrested the driver and the two additional suspects involved in the crime. The operation spanned multiple jurisdictions in the region.
During the subsequent police actions, authorities managed to recover a significant portion of the stolen funds. Specifically, 97 lakh Taka out of the total looted money was successfully tracked down and retrieved by the law enforcement teams.
Details of the arrests and the recovery operation were officially made public during a media briefing. Industrial Police Superintendent Md. Amzad Hossain revealed this information while addressing journalists at a press conference held on Saturday afternoon.
The press conference detailing the breakthrough took place at the official Industrial Police office situated in Gazipur. Further legal proceedings regarding the arrested suspects and the recovered money are now underway as the investigation continues.
