Director Changes at Dhaka Medical College and Osmani Medical Hospitals
The Ministry of Public Administration has issued a notification appointing new directors for Dhaka Medical College Hospital and Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital. The outgoing directors from both institutions are being returned to the Bangladesh Army.

The health and administrative sectors in Bangladesh have seen significant leadership changes following a recent government order. According to an official notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, new directors have been officially appointed to two of the country's most prominent major medical facilities: Dhaka Medical College Hospital and Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
Under the newly announced administrative changes, Brigadier General A K M Farhad Hossain has been appointed as the new director of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. He takes over leadership of the hospital from the incumbent director, Brigadier General Md. Asaduzzaman.
As part of the same directive issued by the Ministry of Public Administration, the outgoing director of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Brigadier General Md. Asaduzzaman, is being recalled from his current healthcare administration duties. Following the conclusion of his tenure at the hospital, he will be returned to the Armed Forces Division to resume his service within the Bangladesh Army.
Simultaneously, leadership changes have also been finalized for Sylhet. Brigadier General Abu Jafor Md. Khaled Hossain has been appointed to take charge as the new director of the Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, stepping into the role to oversee its medical operations and administrative functions.
Concurrently, the current director of the Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, Brigadier General Umar Rashed Munir, is also being relieved of his hospital administration responsibilities. In line with the government notification, he is being recalled and returned to the Bangladesh Army under the Armed Forces Division.
