Specifically, the overusing of medications such as paracetamol can cause severe liver damage and, in the most critical cases, even progress to complete liver failure. This alarming trend highlights a growing public health concern regarding self-medication practices and the lack of proper medical supervision when individuals consume standard over-the-counter remedies.
Beyond standard pharmaceutical drugs, alternative treatments are also coming under scrutiny for their safety profiles. Both herbal products and various dietary supplements can cause significant liver damage when consumed by the public.
