Dhaka police have successfully foiled a calculated criminal conspiracy in Sutrapur, where five suspects allegedly planned to frame a local motor parts businessman by concealing illegal firearms inside his commercial establishment. The operation, which unfolded on August 21, 2026, highlights ongoing efforts by local law enforcement to clamp down on fabricated criminal cases and malicious framing plots within the capital city.

According to verified police reports, the coordinated intervention by the Sutrapur police led to the immediate apprehension of the five individuals involved in the conspiracy. During the targeted operation, law enforcement personnel recovered crucial physical evidence from the suspects, including two domestic pipe guns and two rounds of fresh 12-bore live cartridges intended to be used in framing the businessman.

In addition to the firearms and ammunition, investigators seized a Mitsubishi Pajero vehicle that was specifically utilized to transport the weapons to the scene of the planned setup. The seizure of the transport vehicle provides vital logistical evidence linking the arrested suspects to the premeditated crime targeting the unidentified local trader.

Following the successful arrests and the seizure of the illicit items, formal legal proceedings have been initiated by the authorities. The Sutrapur police station has officially filed an arms case as the plaintiff, formally documenting the charges against the five detained individuals and ensuring the case moves forward through the judicial system.

The thwarted incident underscores the vigilance of law enforcement units operating within Dhaka, preventing what could have been a severe miscarriage of justice for the targeted merchant. Further investigations are expected to be conducted by the police to determine all aspects of the conspiracy and the full extent of the suspects' involvement.
