High-ranking officials from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and the Capital Development Authority (RAJUK) have conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Jhilmil residential project area located in Keraniganj, Dhaka. This official visit took place on September 1, 2025, with the primary objective of addressing and mitigating chronic traffic congestion within the capital city while simultaneously modernizing the overarching traffic management system.

During their on-site assessment of the Keraniganj Jhilmil project and the Purbachal areas, the authorities finalized a major strategic decision. It has been officially decided that a permanent bus terminal will be constructed in Keraniganj specifically to handle the operations and movement of buses connecting to nineteen different districts situated across the southern region of the country.

To ensure a smooth transition and maintain transport connectivity before the permanent infrastructure is fully established, interim measures have been arranged. Authorities have formulated a concrete plan allowing the relevant transport services and vehicles to operate temporarily out of the Rajuk Jhilmil project area in Keraniganj until the permanent bus terminal is officially built and operational.

The extensive planning surrounding this major infrastructure project involves a multitude of key stakeholders, security agencies, and administrative bodies. Representatives and officials actively involved in the coordination and management efforts include Md. Riazul Islam, Md. Anisur Rahman, Md. Aminur Rahman Suman, Mohammad Nur E Khoda, Nobayon Khisa, Mohammad Zahirul Islam, Md. Hafizul Islam, Mohammad Shamsuzzaman Maruf, and Md. Zahidul Islam.

Furthermore, robust security and administrative support for the initiative is being coordinated alongside specialized law enforcement and regulatory organizations. Alongside the Dhaka Metropolitan Police and RAJUK, the operations involve active coordination with RAB-10 to ensure security, proper traffic flow, and orderly execution of the transport modernization plans in the Keraniganj and wider Dhaka metropolitan regions.
