Dhaka DB Police Arrests Man with 26kg of Ganja in Khilkhet
Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Detective Branch has arrested a 50-year-old drug peddler in the capital's Khilkhet area. Authorities recovered 26 kilograms of cannabis during the operation.

The Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police has successfully conducted a major anti-narcotics operation in the capital, resulting in the apprehension of a suspected drug dealer. Law enforcement officials confirmed that the operation took place in the Khilkhet bus stand area of Dhaka, targeting illicit narcotics trafficking within the metropolitan region.
During the operation, the Detective Branch arrested a 50-year-old individual identified as Md. Humayun Kabir Bhuiyan. According to the verified details released by authorities, the suspect was apprehended with a substantial quantity of illegal substances in his possession.
Law enforcement personnel successfully recovered a total of 26 kilograms of ganja, commonly known as cannabis, from the possession of the arrested suspect. The operation underscores ongoing efforts by the detective branch to curb the illegal drug trade operating within various neighborhoods of the capital city.
The specific operation in the Khilkhet bus stand area was executed by the Motijheel division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police. Their targeted intervention successfully intercepted the contraband before it could be distributed further into the local market.
Following the successful arrest and the seizure of the 26 kilograms of cannabis, formal legal procedures were immediately initiated against the suspect. A case has been officially filed against Md. Humayun Kabir Bhuiyan at the Khilkhet Police Station under the stringent provisions of the Narcotics Control Act.
