Burmese Python Rescued from Security Net in Boalkhali, Chattogram
A Burmese python measuring about 12 feet in length and weighing approximately 14 kilograms was rescued from a security net in Chattogram. Wildlife rescuers successfully freed the snake before releasing it into a local agricultural field.

On September 1, 2026, wildlife rescuers successfully intervened to save a large snake that had become entangled in a security net in the Chattogram district. The incident took place within the Bottola area of East Charandeep village, located in the Charandeep Union of Boalkhali Upazila in Chattogram.
According to the verified details of the incident, the reptile had accidentally wandered into a garden area where it became firmly trapped in a security net. As the massive creature struggled against the netting, local residents noticed its plight and promptly reached out for professional assistance to ensure the animal could be safely handled without causing harm to either the villagers or the creature itself.
In response to the emergency call, members of the Wildlife and Snake Rescue Team rushed to the specific location in Boalkhali Upazila to assess the situation and carry out the rescue operation. Operating with careful precision, the rescue personnel worked to free the trapped animal from the tight confines of the garden's security net.
Amir Hossain Shaon, speaking on behalf of the rescue team, detailed the successful operation. He noted that upon receiving the initial notification, the members of the Wildlife and Snake Rescue Team immediately traveled to the scene. At approximately 10:30 in the morning, the team successfully cut through the surrounding net and carefully extracted the snake to safety.
Elaborating on the physical characteristics of the rescued reptile, Amir Hossain Shaon confirmed the species and its impressive measurements. He stated that the rescued reptile is a Burmese python, noting specifically that it weighs approximately 14 kilograms and measures around 12 feet in length.
Following the successful extraction and health assessment, a collective decision was made regarding the animal's immediate future. In accordance with the decision of the local residents present at the scene, the rescued Burmese python was subsequently taken to a nearby agricultural land and safely released back into an open environment.
