Birulia Krishak Dal Committee Sparks Protest and Demands for Cancellation
Local BNP and affiliated leaders held a human chain and protest rally in Savar, Dhaka, demanding the cancellation of the newly formed Birulia Union Krishak Dal committee. Protesters accused the new president, Madhu Madbor, of previous associations with oppression and involvement in student killings.

A fresh wave of controversy has erupted surrounding the newly formed committee of the Birulia Union Krishak Dal in Savar, located in the Dhaka district. The discontent culminated on Saturday, September 5th, when local leaders and activists representing the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its various affiliate organizations took to the streets in Birulia to voice their strong objections.
During the demonstration, the aggrieved party members organized a human chain and a protest procession to press their demands for the immediate cancellation of the newly announced committee. The core of the protest centered on allegations directed against the newly appointed president of the committee, Madhu Madbor, drawing sharp criticism from those who claim to have sustained the party through years of political turmoil.
Addressing the gathering, protester Mohammad Shahabuddin delivered a passionate critique of the new leadership appointments. Shahabuddin stated, "For a long 17 years, we have worked hard, made sacrifices, and fallen victim to oppression and torture. If those who oppressed and tortured us today get the post of president in the Krishak Dal committee, there can be nothing more tragic than that."
Shahabuddin further escalated the allegations by implicating Madhu Madbor in local political conflicts and grave crimes. He claimed that Madhu Madbor maintained an association with former chairman Sujan and asserted that Madbor was also involved in student killing incidents.
In the same speech, Shahabuddin addressed the local party leadership, specifically mentioning Dr. Dewan Mohammad Salahuddin Babu. He remarked, "We have respect for Dr. Dewan Mohammad Salahuddin Babu bhai. He is our party guardian. We want no one to sell his name to ruin his reputation, nor to ruin the reputation of the BNP."
Despite the severe allegations brought forward during the protest and human chain in Birulia, the newly appointed Krishak Dal president, Madhu Madbor, has not yet provided a response. When attempts were made to contact Madhu Madbor regarding the accusations made by the demonstrators, he declined to give any statement.
