BGSA Launches at Wayne State University in Michigan with Freshers' Welcome

The Bangladeshi Graduate Students Association (BGSA) has officially commenced its organizational journey at Wayne State University, located in the state of Michigan, United States. This significant milestone establishes a dedicated platform for Bangladeshi scholars pursuing higher education and advanced degrees within the university community, fostering a sense of community and mutual support among international students navigating academic life abroad.

Marking its official public debut, the organization hosted a grand inauguration and freshers' welcome event titled 'Arunodoy O Nobinboron' (Dawn and Freshers' Welcome). The celebratory gathering took place on September 6, 2026, bringing together members of the academic community at the university's vibrant Student Center to welcome new students and celebrate the cultural and academic presence of Bangladeshi scholars.

During this foundational period, the newly established student organization has announced its leadership team for the 2026–2027 operational term. The executive committee is spearheaded by Bijoy Krishna Roy, who has taken on the role of president, guiding the organization's strategic vision and community outreach efforts for the upcoming academic year.

Assisting the presidential duties are Vice-President Abrar Noor-e-Faiyaz and General Secretary Mahmud Un Nabi, both of whom form the core administrative backbone of the newly formed executive committee. Together, these student leaders are tasked with organizing future events, supporting incoming graduate students, and strengthening institutional ties within Wayne State University.
