BGB Recover Weapons and Ammunition in Habiganj Satchari Reserve Forest

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has successfully conducted a major security operation resulting in the recovery of hidden weapons and ammunition within the Satchari Reserve Forest situated in the Habiganj district. The operation was carried out on August 20 by the Habiganj Battalion, officially designated as 55 BGB, as part of their ongoing efforts to maintain regional security and law enforcement.

During the thorough search of the forested area, security personnel uncovered a specific cache of military-grade and concealed hardware. The verified haul recovered from the Satchari Reserve Forest includes exactly six pistols, seven magazines, and a total of twenty-two rounds of various types of ammunition.

In addition to the firearms and ammunition, the comprehensive BGB operation resulted in the seizure of a substantial quantity of illegal goods and contraband. The confiscated items comprise two hundred thirty-eight kilograms of Indian marijuana, forty-one million Taka in currency, two thousand five hundred eighty-five pieces of yaba tablets, fifty-nine bottles of liquor, and twenty-one cattle.

Lieutenant Colonel Md. Tanzilur Rahman addressed the successful operation and the broader security context. Emphasizing the paramilitary force's primary operational mandates, he stated that Border Guard Bangladesh is firmly resolved to ensure the country's sovereignty and border security, prevent the proliferation of illegal weapons and ammunition, and maintain peace and order throughout border regions.

Looking ahead, Lieutenant Colonel Md. Tanzilur Rahman further underscored the strategic commitment of the armed security organization. He reiterated that the ongoing operations and vigilance of the BGB will be intensified even further in the future to effectively deter and prevent any and all forms of illegal activities across the jurisdiction.
