BGB Launches Electric Wiring Training for Unemployed Youth in Panchagarh

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has officially launched a specialized electric house wiring training program aimed at empowering unemployed youth in the border areas of Tetulia upazila, located within the Panchagarh district. The community-focused initiative commenced on the afternoon of August 23, 2026, marking a significant step toward local youth development and economic self-reliance in the northern region.

The month-long skill development program has been organized under the direct initiative and independent funding of the Panchagarh Battalion, specifically operating as the 18 BGB. By financing the entire training program out of its own funds, the battalion demonstrates a strong commitment to uplifting marginalized populations residing along the international border.

A total of thirty young men from various border-adjacent communities within Tetulia upazila have been selected to participate in this comprehensive course. To facilitate the learning process, the organizers have set up the training sessions inside a designated classroom at the Bhajanpur Bilateral High School, providing a conducive educational environment for the participants.

The formal inauguration ceremony took place on the afternoon of August 23, 2026, with Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Mohammad Kaiser, captain of the Panchagarh Battalion (18 BGB), presiding over the opening events. His presence underscored the paramilitary force's dedication to civic engagement and grassroots capacity building alongside its primary border security duties.

Addressing the gathering during the opening ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Mohammad Kaiser emphasized the broader socio-economic impact of the program. He stated that this type of specialized training would play a vital role in transforming the youth of border regions into a skilled workforce while simultaneously contributing to the establishment of a safe, conscious, and prosperous society.
