In Dhaka, Bangladesh, fifty-nine-year-old Belayet Sheikh has officially completed his graduation degree, marking a remarkable milestone in his lifelong educational journey. On August 30, 2026, details emerged regarding his academic success from the Department of Journalism, Communication and Media Studies at State University of Bangladesh (SUB).
Belayet Sheikh's path to higher education involved returning to school later in life. His documented academic progression shows that he enrolled in the ninth grade in 2017. He subsequently passed his Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination in 2019, achieving a GPA of 4.43, and went on to pass his Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) examination in 2021 with a GPA of 4.58.
Alongside his academic pursuits, Belayet Sheikh works professionally as the Sreepur correspondent for the Daily Karatoa newspaper. Reflecting on his determination to continue learning despite societal and personal challenges, he stated that he never viewed age as a barrier to education and still considers himself a student who wants to learn new things until the final day of his life.
Discussing the evolution of his academic aspirations, he noted that while his thoughts a few years ago centered simply on how he would finish his honors degree, he now believes that with sincere desire and effort, people can achieve many things. He acknowledged facing hardships and criticism along the way, stating that he endured much difficulty and heard many remarks before ultimately overcoming all obstacles to finish his graduation.
Looking ahead, Belayet Sheikh has declared his intention to pursue higher academic qualifications, stating that his current dream is to earn a PhD. He explained that after completing his master's degree, he plans to enroll in an MPhil and PhD program, expressing his ultimate goal to become Dr. Belayet Sheikh.
