Bangladesh Technical Education Board cuts diploma admission fee

The Bangladesh Technical Education Board, operating as the primary regulatory body for technical education within the country, has officially reduced the admission test fee for government institutions. This significant financial adjustment has been implemented specifically for the upcoming academic year, which is formally designated as the 2026-2027 academic year.

Under the newly revised regulatory guidelines issued by the board, prospective students seeking admission into the four-year diploma programs at government facilities will experience a direct reduction in their testing costs. Specifically, the admission test fee—applicable whether a candidate applies for a single shift or for both shifts—has been lowered from the previous amount of 500 taka down to a new, more affordable rate of 300 taka.

Despite the notable decrease in the actual admission test fee, structural costs associated with the initial digital application process remain entirely unchanged. The official fee required for submitting online admission applications has been maintained at the exact same rate as before, holding steady at 220 taka per shift for all interested applicants navigating the digital portal.

In the event that any financial discrepancies or excess charges occur during the collection process, clear administrative measures have been put in place by the regulatory authorities. According to the official directives released by the board, any additionally collected application fees will be systematically adjusted and accounted for at the time of final admission.
