Bangladesh State Minister Inaugurates 'The Sportiva' Turf Ground

State Minister for Youth and Sports Md. Aminul Haque officially inaugurated 'The Sportiva' turf football ground at the Mymensingh Officers Club in Mymensingh, Bangladesh, on August 14, 2026. The high-profile inauguration event drew numerous local figures and sports organizers, highlighting ongoing regional developments in sports infrastructure across the country.

During the event, State Minister Md. Aminul Haque outlined broader government objectives regarding national athletics and public health initiatives. He stated that the government is actively working to build a healthy nation through sports, establish a drug-free society, and elevate talented grassroots players to the national stage. Furthermore, he announced that sports will be made mandatory for students starting from the fourth grade in the next academic year.

The administration's extensive developmental framework includes plans to plant 25 crore trees over the next five years, construct swimming pools across 22 districts nationwide, and establish a designated playground in each of the 4,599 unions across the country. Additional nationwide projects involve developing sports infrastructure across all 64 districts and building mini stadiums in approximately 503 upazilas.

Meanwhile, in a separate development on the same date of August 14, 2026, Adviser Humayun Kabir spoke at the inauguration ceremony for the construction work of the NRB Medical College Hospital located in Osmaninagar, Sylhet. During his address, Adviser Humayun Kabir touched upon international relations, stating that if an invitation arrives for the Prime Minister's visit to India, the government will certainly consider it positively, although no specific dates have been finalized at this moment.

Adviser Humayun Kabir also addressed economic challenges during his remarks in Sylhet, emphasizing that gas and power shortages are not unique to Bangladesh alone. He explained that this constitutes a global energy crisis driven by the impact of the war between Israel and Iran, which has subsequently increased fuel prices across international markets.
