Female students have significantly outperformed their male counterparts in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations across Bangladesh, according to official results released on August 15, 2026. The comprehensive data published following the evaluation demonstrates a strong performance by female candidates, who surpassed boys in both overall pass rates and the attainment of the highest academic grade, GPA-5.

A detailed breakdown of the examination statistics reveals that a total of 911,791 female candidates sat the examinations. Among them, 607,939 female candidates successfully passed, translating to an impressive pass rate of 66.68 percent for girls. In comparison, a total of 917,694 male candidates sat the examinations, with 530,938 male candidates managing to pass, resulting in a lower pass rate of 57.86 percent for boys.

When comparing the two cohorts, the data highlights a clear performance margin. The pass rate for female students was precisely 8.82 percentage points higher than the pass rate recorded for male students. This statistical gap underscores the ongoing academic momentum of female students participating in the Secondary School Certificate and equivalent examinations throughout the country.

Furthermore, female students also dominated the highest tier of academic achievement by securing significantly more GPA-5 results. A total of 63,896 female students achieved the coveted GPA-5 grade, whereas 52,780 male students managed the same feat. This created a notable difference of 11,116 in GPA-5 achievers between female and male participants, favoring the girls.

Across the entire educational board, the examinations culminated in a broad success metric with a massive cohort of learners achieving passing grades. Official figures confirm that a total of 1,138,877 students successfully passed the Secondary School Certificate and equivalent examinations in total, capping off another notable academic cycle for the nation's educational system as reported by the Daily Star.
