On Monday, a comprehensive review meeting concerning local administration and law enforcement was convened at the local government conference room inside the Secretariat in Dhaka. The high-level gathering brought together key officials to evaluate the administrative and security landscape of several northern regions.
The discussions during the session focused extensively on the prevailing law and order situation across three specific districts. Officials thoroughly reviewed regional challenges related to the maintenance of public safety, alongside specific measures required for the strict control of narcotics and illegal gambling activities within the designated areas.
Beyond security concerns, the agenda encompassed a wide array of vital public welfare and infrastructure issues. Participants deliberated on pressing local matters including ongoing river erosion, electricity distribution, healthcare services, as well as the steady and reliable supply of essential food items and agricultural fertilizers.
To facilitate broad participation without requiring travel, the meeting utilized a digital approach. Officials joined the proceedings remotely via the Zoom platform, connecting key administrative personnel directly to the central location in the capital.
Among the participants attending virtually through the digital platform were the respective District Commissioners representing Kurigram, Gaibandha, and Rangpur. Other relevant administrative officials from the respective districts also took part in the virtual conference to contribute to the regional assessments.
