Bangladesh's Meteorological Department has officially issued a weather warning for six specific regions across the country, forecasting potential storms accompanied by rain or thunder showers. According to the department's latest bulletin released on August 31, 2023, the weather system is expected to bring significant atmospheric changes to the designated parts of the nation.

The meteorological advisory indicates that the severe weather conditions will bring gusty winds reaching maximum speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour. Additionally, wind speeds ranging between 45 and 60 kilometers per hour are anticipated as the storm system moves across the country, heightening risks for local populations and transportation networks in the path of the disturbance.

The six specific regions identified by the Meteorological Department as being under this weather threat include Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Chattogram, and Cox's Bazar. These coastal and southern areas are particularly vulnerable to sudden squalls and heavy precipitation during this period of the weather event.

In response to the brewing storm conditions, maritime authorities have taken precautionary measures for inland navigation. River ports situated within all six of the threatened regions—namely Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Chattogram, and Cox's Bazar—have been specifically instructed to hoist local cautionary signal number one.
