In an official development aimed at enhancing the welfare of spiritual workers, the government of Bangladesh has formally issued a comprehensive new policy. The Ministry of Religious Affairs enacted the directive, officially titled the 'Honorarium and Welfare Assistance Provision Policy 2026 for Personnel Employed in Mosques and Other Religious Institutions,' to guarantee both financial stability and social security for these individuals.
The newly announced regulatory framework spans a diverse array of sacred sites across the country. According to the promulgated notification, the policy covers workers employed in mosques, Hindu temples, Buddhist pagodas, and Christian churches alike. This inclusive approach ensures that dedicated personnel across the nation's various religious communities are formally recognized under the administrative umbrella.
A core component of the newly instated directive involves direct monetary benefits for the eligible workers. Under the provisions outlined by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, personnel operating within these different religious institutions will receive regular honorarium allowances to support their livelihoods.
