The Bangladesh Intellectual Property Attorneys Association, commonly known as BPIAA, has officially inaugurated its executive committee for the 2026-28 operational term. This significant organizational event brought together prominent legal, industrial, and administrative figures to mark the transition of leadership and outline the path forward for the association.

The formal inauguration ceremony was hosted in the capital city at the Banquet Hall of Hotel 71. The event, which drew members and distinguished guests, took place on Thursday, August 20, serving as the official platform to introduce the newly appointed leadership team to stakeholders within the legal and intellectual property sectors.

The gathering was graced by the presence of Jahangir Hossain, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Industries and Director General of the Department of Patents, Designs and Trademarks, who attended the function as the chief guest. His participation underscored the strong institutional ties between the association and the government bodies regulating intellectual property in the country.

In addition to the chief guest, the ceremony featured Mosharraf Hossain, Director of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who participated in the proceedings as a special guest. The involvement of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry highlights the crucial commercial and industrial intersections managed by members of the Bangladesh Intellectual Property Attorneys Association.

The newly inaugurated executive committee derives its mandate from the organization's internal polls held earlier this year on June 14. During that election process, members of the Bangladesh Intellectual Property Attorneys Association cast their votes to determine the leadership configuration for the 2026-28 term.

Following the conclusion of the June 14 elections, Supreme Court lawyer Md. Zahirul Islam was officially named the president of the association. Alongside him, S. M. Zillur Rahman secured the position of general secretary, completing the primary leadership duo tasked with guiding the executive committee through its 2026-28 tenure.
