Bangladesh has officially participated in the policy dialogue of the 11th Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) summit, which took place in the international financial hub of Hong Kong on Wednesday. The significant diplomatic and economic gathering brought together global leaders, policymakers, and trade representatives to discuss cooperation, infrastructure development, and international partnerships under the expansive framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.

Representing the government of Bangladesh at this major international forum was Khandaker Abdul Muktadir, who serves as the country's Minister for Commerce, Industry, Textiles and Jute. Participating actively in the proceedings, Minister Muktadir took the stage as a distinguished panel speaker to articulate the perspective of Bangladesh on regional trade, economic collaboration, and mutual development goals.

During the course of the policy dialogue in Hong Kong, discussions heavily centered on strengthening diplomatic and economic ties among participating nations. Minister Muktadir's address highlighted the robust and enduring friendship between Bangladesh and China, emphasizing that bilateral relations between the two countries have successfully reached a historic new milestone.

Specifically, the diplomatic partnership between Dhaka and Beijing has now been formally elevated to the status of a 'Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership'. This upgraded framework is designed to pave the way for deeper cooperation across multiple sectors, reinforcing the mutual commitment of both nations to long-term economic growth and regional connectivity through the Belt and Road Initiative.

The high-profile participation of the Bangladesh delegation underscores the country's ongoing dedication to engaging with international economic platforms and attracting foreign investment. Through events like the 11th BRI summit in Hong Kong, Bangladesh continues to project its economic potential on the global stage while actively seeking new avenues for trade expansion and industrial development.
