Bangladesh Education Ministry keeps migration facility for grade 11 admission

The Ministry of Education and education boards in Bangladesh have officially decided to maintain the migration facility for students seeking admission into the eleventh grade for the upcoming academic year. This latest policy update marks a clear departure from an earlier decision that sought to remove the migration option for students applying to colleges across the country.

According to the newly announced schedule, the online application process for grade 11 admissions is officially scheduled to commence on September 2 and will continue uninterrupted until September 10. Following the completion of the application and selection procedures, authorities have put forward a concrete proposal to wrap up the entire admission process and officially commence classes for newly enrolled students by September 23.

This year's college admission cycle follows the recent publication of the SSC and equivalent examination results, which were officially released to the public on August 10. The official results and subsequent admission preparations involve a massive student cohort across the nation's education infrastructure, highlighting the scale of the academic transition.

Data provided by the education authorities detail the broader statistical framework of the current academic cycle. A total of 1,829,485 candidates participated in the examinations across 11 education boards in Bangladesh, out of whom 1,138,877 successfully passed the examinations.

To accommodate the successful candidates seeking higher secondary education, official figures confirm that there are approximately 2.5 million admission-eligible seats available across institutions under the various education boards. The retention of the migration facility is expected to provide greater flexibility for these students as they secure placements within the available capacity.
