On Sunday, which marks the first working day of the week, the foreign exchange market in Bangladesh experienced fluctuations in currency prices driven by various factors, most notably the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.

According to data officially published by Bangladesh Bank, the central bank of the country, the average price of the US dollar in the market has risen to 122.85 taka.

Alongside the US dollar, information released by the central bank indicates that the prices of several other major international currencies have also seen increases. This upward trend affected a wide range of global currencies operating within the domestic market.

Specifically, the currency data released by Bangladesh Bank confirms that the prices for the euro, the British pound, the Chinese yuan, the Japanese yen, the Indian rupee, the Australian dollar, and the Singaporean dollar all experienced slight increases.

Market observers and participants note that while central bank figures provide an official baseline, physical transactions in the open market operate under slightly different conditions. According to verified market observations, currencies are generally sold in the open market at prices that are somewhat higher than the official rates published by the central bank.
