DHAKA, BANGLADESH — The government of Bangladesh has announced a series of key administrative appointments and transfers involving several top-level bureaucratic positions across critical government ministries and divisions, according to official notices released on September 2, 2026. The Public Administration Ministry orchestrated the comprehensive reshuffle, which impacts the Health Services Division, the Health Education and Family Welfare Division, and the Ministry of Cultural Affairs.

In the primary changes announced within the health sector, Dr. A N M Bazlul Rashid has received a promotion and has been officially appointed as the new secretary of the Health Services Division. Prior to this new assignment, the division was headed by Md. Kamruzzaman Chowdhury. Under the recent government directives, Mr. Chowdhury has now been transferred from his previous post to serve as the new secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration.

Furthering the changes within the health bureaucracy, A K M Benjamin Riyazi, who previously served as the additional secretary of the Ministry of Industries, has been promoted to the rank of secretary. Following his promotion, Mr. Riyazi has been assigned to lead the Health Education and Family Welfare Division as its new secretary, filling an essential leadership role within the government's educational and family welfare apparatus.

In addition to the restructuring within the health sector, the Ministry of Cultural Affairs has also received new leadership. Yasmin Begum, who was previously serving as an additional secretary at the Cabinet Division, has been promoted and designated as the new secretary for the Ministry of Cultural Affairs.

Meanwhile, the previous secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Kaniz Moula, has been removed from her cultural portfolio. Official administrative records indicate that Ms. Moula has been transferred away from the ministry and her services have now been placed directly under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Public Administration as part of the broader bureaucratic realignment.
