Bangladesh Appoints New Petrobangna Chief and ACC Director General

The government of Bangladesh has officially announced significant administrative reshuffles involving key state institutions, according to an official notification issued on 07 September 2026. The high-level appointments involve crucial leadership changes at the state-owned oil, gas and mineral corporation as well as the country's primary anti-graft body. In the primary appointment detailed within the administrative order, Md. Abdul Mannan has been designated as the new chairman of Petrobangna. As the head of the organization, he will oversee operations related to the Bangladesh Oil, Gas and Mineral Corporation, managing the vital energy and mineral resources sector under the broader framework of the Energy and Mineral Resources Division.

Simultaneously, the administrative notification confirmed a major placement for Md. Nazmul Hasan within the country's governance structure. He has been officially appointed to serve as the new director general (DG) of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), taking on critical responsibilities within the anti-corruption framework.
