Bangladesh and Nepal Explore Sports Diplomacy to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque held a significant diplomatic meeting with the Ambassador of Nepal to Bangladesh, Ghanshyam Bhandari. The high-level discussions took place on September 10 at the Bangladesh Secretariat located in the capital city of Dhaka.

During the meeting at the secretariat, the two officials engaged in comprehensive talks regarding the further strengthening of the existing bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Nepal. Both representatives explored various avenues to bring the two neighboring nations closer through mutual cooperation in the public and diplomatic sectors.

A major focus of the discussions between State Minister Aminul Haque and Ambassador Ghanshyam Bhandari centered on the role of cricket and broader sports diplomacy. The leaders discussed how athletic collaboration can serve as an effective tool to deepen friendship, mutual understanding, and people-to-people contact between the citizens of Bangladesh and Nepal.

In addition to sports cooperation, the talks also encompassed plans for increasing cultural exchanges between the two countries. Both sides deliberated on ways to share cultural heritage and foster stronger ties by expanding collaborative programs that highlight the traditions and values of both nations.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment from both the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Embassy of Nepal to continue working closely together. The proposed initiatives in cricket, sports diplomacy, and cultural exchange are expected to pave the way for a more robust and active partnership between Bangladesh and Nepal in the near future.
