Despite this national hurdle, the memoir remains on track for its scheduled global release date of November 10.
International distribution and publication of the book are being handled by the United States-based publishing house Alfred A. Knopf. The initial print run for the highly anticipated title has been set at one hundred thousand copies, reflecting considerable commercial interest in the project across international markets.
Regarding the domestic withdrawal, Penguin Random House India issued a brief statement explaining the decision. The publishing firm noted that following standard editorial procedures of fact-checking, they had provided specific suggestions and recommendations to the author.
Sonia Gandhi previously shared her personal motivations for writing the comprehensive manuscript. She stated that much has been written about her family over the years, yet very little of that literature has managed to come close to the actual truth and her genuine feelings.
Describing the broader scope and historical value of the project, Sonia Gandhi emphasized the unique perspective the book provides. She noted that her autobiography offers readers a distinctive vantage point on the profound social and political transformations that she has witnessed in the country over the span of six decades.
