Singapore Government Announces Significant Salary Increases for Ministers and Prime Minister

The government of Singapore has officially announced that it will raise the annual salaries of various government office holders and ministers. Under the newly announced salary adjustments, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong's annual pay package will increase by 1.4 million Singapore dollars to reach an astonishing S$3.6 million. Despite this massive financial boost, Lawrence Wong has publicly confirmed that he will donate his entire pay increase to charity over the course of the next five years, attempting to address public perceptions surrounding the compensation changes.
In addition to the Prime Minister's package, the base pay package of other government ministers will also increase.
