Researchers and Innovators Honored for Industrial Research in Dhaka

A grand recognition and awards ceremony took place on August 24 at the Crystal Ballroom of Hotel InterContinental in Dhaka to encourage industry-based research, innovation, and entrepreneurship across Bangladesh. The event was organized under the initiative of the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SISCIP), which operates under the Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance.
Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury graced the auspicious occasion as the chief guest, addressing the gathering of distinguished guests, researchers, and industry leaders. During the ceremony, selected researchers, innovators, and entrepreneurs were officially honored and awarded for their remarkable contributions to industrial research and technological development.
Highlighting the significance of these achievements, Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury stated that the innovative success of researchers and entrepreneurs under the BRDI in Bangladesh's industrial sector is highly commendable. He further remarked that this program will not only inspire those affiliated with the BRDI but will also newly motivate the entire community of researchers and innovators dedicated to technological advancement nationwide.
The high-profile event saw the participation of several key figures from government and international organizations. Dr. Md. Khairuzzaman Majumder serves as the Secretary of the Finance Division as well as the National Program Director for SISCIP, playing a pivotal role in overseeing the implementation and success of the program.
Additionally, Mr. Kingfeng Zhang attended the ceremony in his capacity as the Country Director for the Bangladesh Resident Mission of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The collaborative efforts between the Ministry of Finance, SISCIP, BRDI, and the Asian Development Bank underscore the national commitment to fostering a competitive and innovation-driven industrial landscape in Bangladesh.
