Pirgachha Marks Kazi Nazrul Islam's 50th Death Anniversary

The 50th death anniversary of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam was officially observed on August 29, 2026, in the area of Annadanagar, located within Pirgachha in Rangpur. This significant cultural commemoration drew attention to the enduring legacy and literary contributions of the revered national poet, whose works continue to inspire generations across the region and the country at large.

The observance of this solemn milestone was organized under the initiative and management of the Projonmo Somaj-Sanskritik Kendro, a local social and cultural organization dedicated to promoting literature, history, and cultural heritage among the public. The organization's leadership and members worked together to ensure the day's events were executed smoothly in Pirgachha, Rangpur.

As part of the day-long commemoration program, a series of engaging activities were held to honor the life and works of Kazi Nazrul Islam. These activities included an in-depth discussion focused entirely on the profound literary, social, and political themes found throughout the extensive works of the national poet.

In addition to the scholarly and commemorative discussions, the organizers arranged interactive events designed to actively involve participants.
