Streaming giant Netflix is teaming up with gaming company Sega for three brand new video game adaptations. The upcoming slate includes a Crazy Taxi film, a Sonic animated series, and a live-action movie based on Stranger Than Heaven, bringing beloved gaming properties to the screen in various formats.

For the Crazy Taxi film adaptation, creative duties are firmly underway behind the scenes. Dan Gregor and Doug Mand have been brought on board to write the script for the movie, shaping the high-octane and chaotic world of the franchise into a feature-length cinematic experience.

As production moves forward on the cinematic side, release details have begun to emerge for the broader franchise ecosystem. Crazy Taxi: World Tour is officially scheduled for release in 2027, with the timeframe corresponding to next year from the perspective of announcements made in September 2026.
